JABA Respite & Enrichment Centers (REC) win state-wide award for community commitment

At the 2024 LeadingAge Virginia Annual Conference + EXPO in Roanoke last week, JABA's Respite & Enrichment Centers were presented with the annual Stewardship Award, which recognizes organizations that have advanced public trust and confidence in aging services.

LeadingAge Virgina, a non-profit association that has been promoting positive aging in Virginia for 50 years, had this to say about choosing JABA: "Congratulations to JABA Charlottesville for winning the Stewardship Award at this year’s LeadingAge Virginia Conference. JABA is celebrated for its deep community commitment and collaborative efforts to enhance aging services."

JABA Respite & Enrichment Centers (REC) in Charlottesville and Louisa provide a safe, uplifting environment during the week for adults living with dementia or other disabilities. Which also provides a welcome respite for caregivers. Games, activities, music performances, health care support, delicious meals and snacks, rich social connections, and direct support for caregivers help older adults remain in their homes for as long as possible.

"As JABA prepares to turn 50, we are honored to help people age in the community," says JABA CEO Marta Keane. " We have services to support each stage, with the Respite and Enrichment Center for members snd caregivers as a great example. We are honored to be recognized for our stewardship."
