Marg lives in a rural area and is friendly, caring, and full of faith. She is also battling cancer. When we met Marg, she was isolated and understandably depressed and inactive. Marg joined JABA’s Community Center, because of your support, free meals give her energy, and save her money, and fitness classes help her focus on what she can do. Marg and her new friends celebrate life together. Marg became a JABA volunteer, leading discussions that share her determined spirit. Marg has enriched our community, and your gifts have transformed her life too.

Preparing For the Next 50

• By 2030, one out of four people in Central Virginia will be over 60 years old.

• Government and private funding are not keeping pace with needs.

• In Central Virginia, 24% of seniors live alone and 6% are in poverty (under $15,650 annually).

• 8,657 adults have a cognitive difficulty and 26,580 have a physical disability.

We need your help to fill the gaps so everyone can age where and how they want without worrying about their next meal or affording medical care.
