Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond comes to Victory Hall in Scottsville for presentation to JABA's Scottsville and Esmont Senior Centers

Seniors from JABA’s Scottsville and Esmont Community Senior Centers are coming together for a unique cultural event. Art and Design Educator Margaret Hancock, who works with the VMFA to help tell stories of art exhibitions and bring artwork to life, will give a talk about the intersections between music and visual art.

 
The event will be held at Victory Hall, 401 Valley Street, Scottsville, Virginia on Wednesday, September 27 from 10:30 am - 11:30 am. A question and answer period will follow.  
 
“Enter the world of music in art! This visual presentation delves into the unique depictions of musicians, instruments, notes and musical ephemera in a variety of works and media. From Picasso’s framed collages to Man Rays iconic photographs, the audio has greatly influenced the visual in 20th century 2-D and 3-D works of art.”
