A Helping Hand Can Bring Peace and Joy. . .

In 2008, JABA will provide food, health care, and even companionship to many of the disadvantaged seniors we care about throughout your community. Our volunteers visit the homebound, delivering meals and friendship…our nurses make home visits and provide check ups at our housing facilities, senior and community centers…and every encounter becomes a special time of healing and renewed strength. Donate to JABA

In one year, JABA will help as many as 15,000 older adults and their families. With your help, we can make sure that elders in need receive these kinds of services:

• Hot meals served in a congregate setting;
• In-home services that promote aging in place
  
• Medical oversight and treatment at senior centers, in their homes or at a clinic or doctor’s office;
• Nutritious meals delivered to their home by a friendly visitor;
• Professionally supervised respite care, offering the caregiver a healthy break;
• Vital Medicare counseling and advice;
• Socialization and fellowship for those in early dementia;
• … and more.

We want to keep our elders as independent as possible and in their homes as long as it is in their best interest.

But we depend on donors to help us do that.

As JABA, Inc. is recognized as a 501c3 organization by the IRS, your gift is tax-deductible to the extent provided by law; we will receipt every donation in writing, with thanks!

At the time you are making your gift, you may choose to designate that gift to a particular program or leave it to us to use it where it is needed most.

Donate securely online

For your security, JABA now makes it possible for you to donate securely online using PayPal, one of the most respected online payment services. You may donate by credit card using PayPal even if you don't have a PayPal account.

By using PayPal for your donations, JABA protects your security by ensuring that your credit card information does not exist anywhere on our own site, but is instead protected by the many layers of PayPal protection. Fraud Alert: There are some fake e-mails being sent that say they are from PayPal, often"telling" you that your account has been charged for something you did not buy. First, you do not have to have a PayPal account to donate to JABA using their merchant service. The real PayPal will NEVER ask you to click on a link in an e-mail for any reason. In fact, you should never click on a link in ANY e-mail that seems to come from a financial institution.

Multi-Year Pledges

Many donors have found that a multi-year (three-, four- or five-year, etc.) pledge period for their donation sometimes enables them to give a larger gift. For more information, call JABA's development office at (434) 295-0396.

Gift of appreciated Securities

A gift of stock that has appreciated in value can provide double tax benefits for you. Not only are you entitled to the charitable deduction for the full value of the security, but you are also exempted from the capital gains tax on the appreciation of the stock.

Bequests

Making us aware of your intent to include JABA, Inc. in your estate plans will allow us to acknowledge your support now (according to your wishes), while also working with you to make sure your wishes are carried out exactly as you would like.

Twice is Nice

Located in Preston Plaza on Preston Avenue near downtown Charlottesville, Twice Is Nice is a thrift shop owned and operated by Shirely Ehrhardt. Opened in 1991, the shop features men's, women's, and children's clothing, shoes, housewares, jewelry, and all sorts of other surprises.

Shirley created the shop to benefit JABA, and has donated profits from her sales to JABA since Twice Is Nice first opened its doors! To donate your items (tax-deductible), or to shop for good-quality used clothing, accessories, and housewares, visit:
